COMMUNITY
Next Gen Veterans of Indian River County leads the way on a number of community projects ranging from memorials to large-scale events, raising money to continue our support for veterans in our area.
Words From War
A monument located in Riverside Park situated between our Museum of Art and the entrance to Veterans Memorial Island. Sculpted by Ross Power, this monument is dedicated to the men and women who served in the Iraq/Afghanistan War.
Honor Guard
NGVIRC has a 5-6 person honor guard that represents our organization in parades and at veteran events in our community. An organization, veteran or veteran family can request our guard for presentation of colors, flag folding ceremony, or other official military presentation.
STORM & SEVERE WEATHER REACTION FORCE
We are presently working with community partners to establish and stock a bunker of emergency supplies and recovery equipment to help our veteran community immediately following a hurricane or during extreme temperature conditions. As part of this operation, Indian River County veterans, especially elder and medically/physically in need, can request assistance with shutter placement and/or removal during a hurricane event in our area.
LENDING A HAND
In keeping with our mission purpose, we also strive to be of assistance to our fellow veterans' groups, the Veterans Council and other community organizations in Indian River County. We will make our best effort to serve with able bodies and hands when requested for set-up, break down, staffing of or ceremony at charitable events in our community.
